After the results of the Uttar Pradesh MLC elections, the stir in the political corridors has intensified. In the 11-member Assembly, the BJP won 6 seats and the Samajwadi Party won 5 seats. However, the biggest setback for the BJP has been in Varanasi. The SP has also won the graduate MLC seat in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi. SP candidate Ashutosh Sinha won the seat, leaving BJP’s Kedarnath Singh to win.
In the Varanasi block graduate MLC election, Ashutosh Sinha got 55,046 votes, while BJP candidate Kedarnath Singh got more than 35,000 votes. The special thing is that after the teachers’ constituency in Varanasi, the SP also won the graduate election.
After the victory, Ashutosh Sinha said, “Abhi to yeh tableau hai”
Speaking to the media after the victory, Ashutosh Sinha credited SP national president Akhilesh Yadav and party workers for his success. He said that the workers stayed awake the whole night and stood on the streets. For the small worker, the party leadership was present on the road from morning to night for three days. Ashutosh Sinha said that the administration did not make any mistake due to pressure from the workers. He thanked all his colleagues and well-wishers. On the question asked about the victory in Kashi and Prayagraj after Ayodhya, he said, “This is still a tableau, the government is yet to be formed in Uttar Pradesh. We are going to form the government. “
SP wins Varanasi teachers’ seat
At the same time, the results of Varanasi Teachers’ Constituency came on Wednesday. In Varanasi Teachers’ constituency, SP’s Lal Bihari Yadav defeated BJP’s Pramod Kumar Mishra by 4,898 votes. In the 2020 elections, Mishra contested as an independent candidate and lost to Lal Bihari Yadav by just 936 votes. This time the margin of victory increased significantly. After the victory, Lal Bihari Yadav claimed the support of the teachers and gave credit to SP president Akhilesh Yadav for it.
Lal Bihari Yadav said that due to the positive attitude of the party’s national president, the SP could contest the elections strongly on all the seats in the state. He said that just as Mulayam Singh Yadav was considered the leader of the teaching community, Akhilesh Yadav also has the same attitude towards teachers. Lal Bihari Yadav denied that the controversy related to the UGC had any significant impact on the elections. According to him, those who wanted job security stood with the SP.
