In Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, there was a stir after being elected to carry out a bomb blast in Delhi. A student preparing for UPPSC allegedly called his friend and said that he had been under the watchful eye of an organization for a long time and had been selected for the bomb blast in Delhi. After investigating the case, the Delhi Police has arrested the accused Suraj Verma. The accused is said to be a native of Dibiyapur in Auraiya and had come to Kanpur in connection with his aunt’s treatment.
Bomb threat to friend
According to Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal, a few days ago, information was received from the Delhi Police that Rohit, a student preparing for UPSC in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, has received a threat call. The caller, who reportedly identified himself as a speaker from Lahore, said he had been under the watchful eye of the Jannat-e-Firdaus organisation for a long time. He has been selected for the bomb blast in Delhi. The call was then disconnected.
Issue related to Jio fiber number.
The call was made from a JioFibre number in the name of Manoj Kumar Verma, a resident of Naveen Nagar in Kakadev, Delhi Police said. After receiving the information, the surveillance team of Kakadev police started investigation. The team reached Manoj’s house, where his son Akshat Verma was found. Akshat is preparing for NEET.
The accused had come to Kanpur for the treatment of his aunt.
During interrogation, Akshat said that his cousin Suraj Verma, a resident of Dibiyapur in Auraiya, had come home a few days ago. Suraj is preparing for UPSC. His aunt is suffering from cancer and is undergoing treatment at Paras Hospital. The police caught Suraj after investigation.
The accused said that he had called to scare his friend.
According to the police, during interrogation, Sooraj claimed that he had made a prank call to intimidate his friend Rohit. However, given the seriousness of the threat, the matter was investigated. Local intelligence also interrogated the accused. After this, the Delhi Police arrested him. The police are investigating the facts related to the case. The real motive of the accused and other possible connections behind the threat will be confirmed only on the basis of investigation.
