Where Not to Keep Tulsi: In Sanatan Dharma, the Tulsi plant is considered very sacred and special. In the scriptures, Tulsi is considered as a mother. It is believed that Tulsi is a form of Goddess Lakshmi. Goddess Lakshmi resides in this plant. In every house, water is offered to Tulsi Mata daily and she is worshiped according to the rituals. The green basil plant in the house is considered a symbol of happiness and prosperity.
There is a religious belief that in the house where Mata Tulsi is worshiped according to the rituals, the blessings of Lord Vishnu, the sustainer of the world, remain. At the same time, there is a permanent residence of Mata Lakshmi in the house, due to which there is never any financial constraint or problems related to money, but it is told in religious texts and Vastu Shastra that by placing it in the wrong place, its auspicious effects can be reduced, so it is very important to plant basil in the right place, So let’s know the places where basil plants should not be planted even by forgetting.
Where not to plant basil?
In the south direction: According to Vastu, Tulsi should not be planted or kept in the south direction. These are considered to be the direction of Yamraj. It is believed that planting or placing basil in this direction increases negativity in the house. The north, east or north-east direction is considered more auspicious and good for planting the basil plant.
In the bedroom: Planting or storing basil in a pot in the bedroom should be avoided. Tulsi is considered a symbol of worship and purity and the bedroom has nothing to do with worship.
In the kitchen: Basil should not be planted in the kitchen. This place is of smoke, smell and gas.
Near bathrooms and toilets: It is not advisable to plant or place basil around bathrooms and toilets. This can lead to negativity in the effect of Tulsi, which can aggravate the problems.
Near the main door: The basil plant should not be placed right in front of the main door. By doing this, there is a ‘door hole defect’.
With prickly plants: Basil should also be avoided by planting or placing it with cactus, other prickly and white milky plants. It is inauspicious to do so.
