Ludhiana: Punjabi singer Vicky Taliwan alias Bikramjeet Singh has been arrested in Khanna of Ludhiana district of Punjab for posting a video of aerial firing on his WhatsApp status. According to the police, Vicky fired in the air in the fields using his friend’s licensed pistol and made a video of it and posted it on his WhatsApp status. After the video surfaced, a case was registered against him in Machhiwara Sahib police station. Police investigation has revealed that the firing was done in Batala, district Gurdaspur, while the video was later posted on WhatsApp status after reaching village Bahilolpur of Machhiwara Sahib.
Video of firing goes viral
Police are now investigating the location of the shooting and the entire weapon involved. The investigation reveals that the licensed pistol used belongs to a man named Manveer Singh. The investigation is also looking into how Vicky acquired the licensed weapon and the circumstances under which it was fired. The licensee will be summoned for questioning. DSP Pritpal Singh Sandhu stated that a case was registered and Vicky was arrested upon receiving information about the video. He added that investigations into all aspects of the case are ongoing. Regarding Monday’s arrest, the Khanna DSP stated that Vicky previously had two prior cases of physical violence registered against him.
Borrowed a gun from a friend
According to reports, Vicky Taliwan is associated with the Punjabi music industry and has worked with Gurlez Akhtar. Their single “Hot Headed” was released on January 22, 2025. The song “In Famous” came out about four months ago, while Vicky’s single “Saun Diyan Jhadiyaan” was released on August 4, 2026. Police are currently investigating the matter. Sources have also revealed that the pistol used for the aerial firing belongs to Manveer Singh, a gunman for an AAP leader from Gurdaspur district. However, police are yet to officially confirm this.
