Kishanganj: A woman allegedly attempted suicide by poisoning her two children and then swallowing pesticide in Bihar’s Kishanganj district, police said on Sunday. After the incident, the woman and her two sons were admitted to Kishanganj Sadar Hospital in critical condition, where all three are undergoing treatment. The condition of the children is said to be improving after treatment, while the condition of the woman still remains critical.

The incident is being reported from Pathan Tola, Budhimari village under Kochadhaman police station area. According to the information, the woman was reportedly angry with Farhat Jan over a family dispute. It is alleged that during this time he gave poisonous substances to both his sons. After this, the woman herself swallowed the insecticide. The woman said that her husband used to beat her every day, due to which she took this dreaded step. The woman said that after all, on whose shoulders do she leave the children, that is why the children were also fed poisonous substances.
When the health of the woman and the two children started deteriorating, the family came to know about the incident. After this, the family members rushed the three to Kishanganj Sadar Hospital for treatment.
The mother is 22 years old.
The woman has been identified as 22-year-old Farhat Jan and husband Zakir. His two sons, 10-year-old Faizan and 7-year-old Faisal, have been identified as the deceased.
After reaching the hospital, doctors started treating the trio. After treatment, the condition of both the children gradually improved and their condition is currently said to be stable. At the same time, the condition of the woman remains critical and she is undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
According to Dr Subojit Das of Sadar Hospital, the condition of the woman and the two children is being monitored continuously. After treatment, the condition of all three has improved compared to before, although the condition of the woman is still said to be a little serious.

At present, family dispute is being cited as the reason behind the incident. The woman alleges that her husband fights and beats her every day.
