Yo Yo Honey Singh’s nephew Vidit Auluck dies in Jalandhar road accident

The nephew of popular rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and son of Speed Records owner Dinesh Auluck, along with a friend, was killed in a road accident in Jalandhar around 3 am on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Divit Auluck (18), son of Dinesh Auluck, Managing Director of Speed Records, and Aarav Talwar (19), grandson of the owner of Jalandhar-based Pappi Sweets.

Speed Records is a globally recognised name in the music industry, and the accident has deeply impacted Punjab’s music fraternity. Pappi Sweets, located at Patel Chowk, is also among Jalandhar’s iconic and oldest sweet shops.

The duo was travelling in a Volkswagen Jetta after attending a party in the early hours of Sunday, along with three other people.

The accident took place on a flyover near the Police Lines in Jalandhar, leaving the luxury car badly damaged. The speeding vehicle crashed into a municipal corporation garbage trolley parked on the flyover.

Was driving at a high speed: Police

Police said the driver was travelling at a high speed when the car rammed into the trolley. In an apparent attempt to avoid the collision, one side of the vehicle struck the parked trolley. The impact severely damaged the left side of the car, where Divit and Aarav were seated, killing them on the spot.

All five occupants of the car were aged between 18 and 19 years.

The other three occupants have been identified as Raghav Punchi (18) and Pushkar Sharda (18), son of Ward No. 78 councillor Deepak Sharda, and another youth. Raghav Punchi’s father is reportedly the owner of the car.

According to reports, the youths were involved in a racing duel with two other cars, a Skoda and a Thar, driven by young friends who are reportedly sons of industrialists and businessmen.

None of the families has so far pressed any formal charges. Aarav’s body was cremated on Sunday, while Divit’s last rites will be performed on November 3, as his brother’s return from Canada is awaited.

Baradari SHO Sahil Chowdhary said, “Five of them were riding together with Divit and Aarav’s side was massively impacted. The crash caused the duo’s death while others have sustained minor injuries. The families haven’t pressed any formal charges.”

DCP (City), Jalandhar, Aditya Warrier, said all five youths were in the car when the accident took place.
