Kanpur woman claims her husband went missing in Russia, she is not traceable, appeals to the government for help

Chandan Gupta, an engineer from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, who had gone to Russia on a work visa, has been detained by the Russian police, his wife has claimed. Sneha Gupta’s wife claims that Chandan was taken away by the police at around 12.30 am on Sunday night. Later, they came to know that Chandan was kept in jail. Sneha is alone in Moscow with her 10-year-old child after her husband was detained. She has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to intervene and bring her husband back to India safely.

Wife says she doesn’t know where police have taken her husband

Sneha says that Chandan had gone to Russia to work and he did not do anything due to which he should be detained. It is also not clear to the family what action has been taken against them after the sudden arrival of the police at night and taking the husband along. Sneha said that she is constantly trying to know the condition of her husband, but she has not been able to get complete information so far.

The woman made a shocking claim

Sneha’s biggest concern is that her husband may not be forcibly drafted into the Russian army. He claimed in the video that there have been reports of people being sent to the army in Russia. On this basis, he fears that the same could happen to Chandan. However, there is no independent or official confirmation of Chandan’s transfer to the Russian army or the start of the conscription process.

The wife also contacted the Indian Embassy.

Sneha has also claimed to have contacted the Indian Embassy in Moscow. According to her, she is constantly seeking help, but she is not being given any concrete information about Chandan. Sneha says that the embassy is only telling that her husband will be released. She wants it to be clear to her as to what led to Chandan’s detention, where he has been kept and the status of his release.

महिला के साथ 10 साल का बच्चा, रूसी भाषा नहीं आती

Sneha’s troubles have increased due to being alone abroad. She said she did not speak Russian and was finding it difficult to understand the legal process as her husband was in custody. Their 10-year-old child is also with them. In such a situation, she is expecting immediate help from the Government of India.

Request for help from PM Modi and CM Yogi

Sneha appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure the safety of Indian citizens who have gone abroad to work. He has sought talks with Russian authorities to ascertain Chandan’s condition and bring him back to India safely. He also appealed to the people to share the video, so that the matter reaches the government and the concerned authorities.

The grounds for detention are yet to be ascertained.

The reason for Chandan’s detention is the biggest question in this case. There is no official information about the basis on which the Russian police detained them, whether there is a case registered against them or not, and where they are being held. Similarly, the matter of being sent to the Russian army is still limited to the wife’s claim and apprehension. The family demands that Chandan’s current condition be clarified soon and his safety be ensured. Sneha wants the Indian authorities to intervene proactively in the matter so that her husband does not face any trouble and can return to his family safely.
