Patna Police has taken major action against drug smuggling in prohibitive Bihar. Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested a woman with 740 grams of brown sugar in the Agamkuan police station area. The recovered brown sugar was placed in 1,002 pieces. After this action of the police, there has been a stir in the network associated with drug smuggling.
Woman carrying brown sugar near Bhootnath metro station
A special drive against drugs is being conducted under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna and under the supervision of City Superintendent of Police, Patna Shailaja. Under this campaign, on October 7, 2026, the Agamkuan police station received a secret information that a woman was carrying brown sugar in her bag near the Bhootnath metro station. Taking the information seriously, a raid team was formed under the direction of the City Superintendent of Police and under the leadership of the Agamkuan police station in-charge. Acting on the information, the team conducted a cordon and raid near Bhootnath Metro Station.
1,002 pieces of brown sugar seized
On seeing the police team, the woman tried to run away from there, but the policemen showed activity and caught her on the spot. Thereafter, a search was conducted as per rules. During the search, the drug wrapped in paper was recovered from the bag with the woman. According to the police, 1,002 pieces of brown sugar, weighing around 740 grams, were recovered from the bag. The police seized the drug and arrested the woman.
Police investigating
After the recovery of such a large quantity of brown sugar, the police are now investigating where this drug reached the woman and where it was to be supplied. The police are also probing the role of the potential supplier and others involved in the business. Based on the enquiries, efforts are being made to reach out to other people associated with the network. In this case, a case has been registered at Agamkuan police station and further legal action is being taken. Along with interrogating the arrested woman, the police are collecting information about the source of the seized drug and its possible buyers.
While there is a legal ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in prohibition Bihar, on the other hand, the seizure of dangerous drugs like brown sugar is also a serious challenge for the police. Patna Police is continuously conducting a campaign against the sale and smuggling of drugs.
