Virgo Sankranti on Thursday: Sun enters Virgo; Take a bath by mixing Ganga water in water and donate food with money

On Thursday, September 17, the Sun will leave Leo and enter Virgo. This change of the Sun is called Kanya Sankranti. On Sankranti, there is a tradition of performing sun worship, bathing, charity and religious deeds related to ancestors.

Astrologer Pt. According to Manish Sharma, when the Sun God enters from one zodiac sign to another, it is called Sankranti. The Sun changes the zodiac sign 12 times a year, so there are a total of 12 Sankrantis in a year. In the scriptures, Sankranti has also been given importance like a festival. This is the reason why a large number of people take a bath in the holy rivers on this day and do charity work.

You can do these auspicious things on Sankranti

It is still rainy time, in such a situation, it is also considered auspicious to plant a shady tree in a public place. Peepal is associated with ancestors. Therefore, by planting a peepal plant on this day and taking regular care of it, the effect of the ancestral dosh of the horoscope can be reduced. Devotees of Lord Vishnu can plant Tulsi saplings in the temples of Shri Krishna and Shri Ram. Shiva devotees can plant Bilva i.e. Bel plant in Shiva temple. Along with planting a plant, it is also important to take responsibility for its care.

Donating on Sankranti is of special importance. Essential items like clothes, food, footwear, umbrella and medicines can be donated to the needy people according to their capacity. While donating, keep in mind that the items are really useful to the person in need.

Gau seva can also be done on this day. Donate money, green fodder or grains to a cowshed.

It is not possible for every person to reach holy rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, Shipra on Sankranti. In such a situation, while bathing at home, you can add a little Ganga water and black sesame seeds to the water.

While bathing, meditate on the holy rivers and shrines in your mind. It is believed that by bathing in this way with reverence and devotion, one can get the same virtuous benefits as pilgrimage bathing at home.

How to offer water to the sun

Wake up early in the morning and take a bath for Sun Puja on Kanya Sankranti. After this, fill the copper pot with water. Add red flowers and some rice to it and offer Arghya to the Sun God.

Om Suryaya Namah Mantra can be chanted while offering Arghya. The Sun God is considered to be fond of jaggery, so donating jaggery on this day is also considered auspicious. Copper utensils can also be donated.

It is time for rain, if the sun is not visible in the morning due to clouds, then Arghya can be given while meditating on the Sun God by facing the east direction.
