Gurugram has experienced waterlogging after rains before. During the rainy season, residents face difficulties due to waterlogging and traffic jams. Recently, a major sewer line collapsed at IFCO Chowk in Gurugram , creating a large sinkhole on the service road, leading to traffic jams at one of the city’s busiest intersections. This incident occurred a day after heavy rains caused waterlogging across the city. The incident occurred near the Westin Hotel, when a portion of the service road caved in, creating a 10-foot by 10-foot crater on the Delhi-Jaipur side. Traffic police barricaded the area and diverted traffic, while emergency repair teams were deployed.
