Long traffic jam after heavy rain
Heavy rains flooded several roads in Delhi and Gurugram, leading to traffic jams at key places. After heavy rains, heavy waterlogging was seen at Cyber City Commercial Hub, Shankar Chowk and Sheetla Mata Road. Hundreds of commuters were stranded for hours on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway near the Delhi-Gurugram border after heavy rains. Traffic police officials said that the traffic speed slowed down near the Shiva idol in Mahipalpur, Delhi, and by 6.30 pm, the queue reached Udyog Vihar Phase-IV in Gurugram.
A 15-feet deep pothole forms on the Delhi-Jaipur highway.
Even before this, waterlogging has been seen in Gurugram after rains. During the rains, people have to face problems due to waterlogging and traffic jams in Gurugram. Recently, amajor sinkhole had formed on the service road after a master sewer line collapsed at IFCO Chowk in Gurugram, causing a traffic jam at one of the busiest intersections in the city. The incident took place a day after heavy rains across the city led to waterlogging. The incident took place near the Westin Hotel when a portion of the service road collapsed, creating a 10 feet x 10 feet crater on the Delhi-Jaipur side. The traffic police barricaded the place and diverted commuters to other routes, as well as emergency repair teams were also deployed.
