Despite the prohibition of liquor in Bihar, smugglers are adopting new methods to smuggle liquor every day. One such shocking case of liquor smuggling has come to light in Gopalganj. There were five women and a male driver in a Bolero. At first glance, everything seemed normal but when the excise police checked the weight of the Bolero, there was suspicion. After this, when the car was searched, the police were also surprised to see the scene inside. A total of 216 litres of foreign liquor was concealed inside the Bolero. The police have arrested a total of six people, including five women.
Investigation conducted near Paharpur overbridge
The excise police have achieved great success against liquor smuggling in Gopalganj. The excise police stopped a Bolero near Paharpur overbridge in Kuchaykot police station area and checked. There were five women and a male driver in the Bolero. Initially, the police did not find anything suspicious. But during the investigation, when the vehicle was weighed, the weight was found to be more than normal. Then the suspicion of the police deepened. A search of the Bolero was initiated and during the search, a huge quantity of foreign liquor concealed inside the vehicle was recovered.
216 litres of foreign liquor was seized.
According to Excise Superintendent Amrutesh Kumar, a total of 216 litres of foreign liquor has been recovered from the Bolero. The value of the recovered liquor is said to be lakhs of rupees. Along with the liquor, the police have also seized the Bolero. A total of six people, including five women smugglers and a male driver, have been arrested from the spot. It is being told that all the arrested accused are residents of Dukhharan Tola in Jadopur police station area of Gopalganj district.
At present, all the accused have been sent to judicial custody. Now the police are trying to find out where this consignment of liquor was brought from and where it was to be delivered.
