Due to the toll plazas of Ganga Expressway and Agra-Lucknow Expressway not being connected online, more toll is being collected from the drivers. There are daily disputes between drivers and toll plaza workers regarding this.
Aware drivers want to pay toll determined according to the distance of their journey, but toll plaza workers are putting pressure on the drivers and charging more money. If the toll plazas of both the expressways are connected online, then the distance covered by the driver on both the expressways will have to be paid as toll tax.
Dilip Singh, a resident of Farrukhabad, comes to Lucknow in his car two to three times a week. From Farrukhabad to Sarmajhla Entry Point he climbs the Ganga Expressway and leaves the Ganga Expressway at Gaurayakala and enters the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. The distance from Sarmajhala to Gaurayakala is 96 kilometers.
For this distance, a toll of Rs 315 is collected from them on Ganga Expressway, whereas at the rate of Rs 2.55 per kilometer, this toll should be around Rs 245. That is, they are charged an additional 70 rupees.
After this, on entering from Gaurayakala on Agra-Lucknow Expressway and exiting near Elp Plaza, they are asked for Rs 120 or toll from Agra to Lucknow instead of Rs 90. The only reason for this is that the employee of Elp Toll Plaza does not have information about from where the concerned vehicle enters the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
Regarding this, Dilip Singh says that there is no information in the system of Elp Toll Plaza from where the concerned vehicle entered the expressway. If the toll plazas of both the expressways are connected to each other, then this problem of the drivers will end.
Also, more toll will not be collected. In this regard, HP Shahi, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority, says that this matter was not in his cognizance earlier. He said that he will get the matter investigated.
