The Haryana State Election Committee of the BJP met at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi to deliberate on candidate selection and poll strategy for the upcoming urban local bodies’ elections.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, state BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli, Union Ministers Manohar Lal, Krishan Pal Gurjar and Rao Inderjit Singh, national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, Central Election Committee member Dr Sudha Yadav and Organisation Minister Phanindranath Sharma, along with other senior leaders.
During the deliberations, the committee decided that feedback from grassroots workers would play a key role in the selection of candidates. The meeting also focused on strengthening booth management, refining election strategy and intensifying public outreach campaigns.
Incharges from several civic bodies, including Rewari Municipal Council, Dharuhera Municipality, Uklana Municipality, Sampla Municipality, and municipal corporations of Sonipat, Ambala and Panchkula, presented detailed reports on local political conditions and organisational preparedness.
After reviewing these reports, the leadership reiterated that the party would contest the elections on the basis of development works and welfare schemes implemented by the Central government and the state government.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, stating that the BJP would register a strong performance in the municipal elections on the strength of its governance record and public welfare initiatives.
Badoli also briefed the committee on the party’s upcoming election programmes. Referring to a recent meeting on the party manifesto, he outlined key points that have been finalised.
He added that extensive feedback had been gathered from six districts —Rewari, Rohtak, Hisar, Sonipat, Ambala and Panchkula — to guide candidate selection.
Several ministers, MPs and senior organisational leaders were present during the meeting, signalling the party’s focus on a coordinated and structured campaign for the civic polls.
