Ganesh Utsav till September 25: The tradition of making a swastika symbol of Lord Ganapati at the beginning of the puja, this mark keeps auspiciousness in the house

Today (September 14) is Ganesh Chaturthi. This festival of Ganesh Puja is till September 25. Lord Ganapati is specially worshipped on these days. Be it Ganesh Puja, worship of any other deity or any other religious work, the beginning is done by making a swastika symbol. This auspicious sign is usually made with vermilion or kumkum. It is believed that if you start a work by making a swastika, then that work is completed without any hindrance. This auspicious sign is considered to be a symbol of Ganesha.

Ujjain’s astrologer Pt. According to Manish Sharma, the swastika is made up of two words – Su meaning auspicious and Asti meaning to be, that is, everything is auspicious. This sign is considered to be auspicious and positive.

There are four lines of the swastika, all four symbolize manhood.

In the scriptures, four purusharthas are mentioned – dharma, artha, kama, moksha. The shape of the swastika is similar to the mathematical plus sign (+), which indicates positivity. Its four lines denote the four men. Apart from this, four ashramas are mentioned in the scriptures – Brahmacharya, Grihastha, Vanaprastha, Sannyas. There are four yugas – Satyug, Tretayug, Dwapara Yug and Kaliyug.
