Four more individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault on an Army brigadier and his son, and the intimidation of his wife, in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Enclave, police said on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Surjit Singh (36), Sunil Sharma (53), and Ashish (32), all residents of Mehram Nagar in Delhi, along with Satender (35), a resident of Bhiwani, Haryana.
According to police, Surjit Singh was acquainted with the main accused, Satender, who is a director of an aviation company. Investigators said the group had gathered in Mehram Nagar when Satender called them following a dispute in Vasant Enclave.
Acting on the call, the four travelled to the location in Surjit Singh’s white Hyundai Aura. Upon arrival, they allegedly joined the altercation and assaulted the brigadier and his son before dispersing to their respective homes, a senior police officer said.
After a case was registered, the accused went into hiding. Police teams were formed to track them down, leading to their arrest. The vehicle used in the incident has also been recovered.
The incident occurred on the night of April 11, when the brigadier and his son reportedly objected to two men consuming alcohol inside a car parked outside their residence. The situation escalated as more individuals arrived at the scene, culminating in the alleged assault and verbal threats directed at the officer’s wife.
Earlier, an aviation tycoon and a Dhaba owner were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the case. They were identified as Satendar alias Sonu (49) and Sanjay Sharma (56).
According to police, Satender is a director of Chaudhary Aviation Pvt ltd, a firm providing chartered and cargo flights services, and involved in the sale and purchase of aircraft and its parts.
Sanjay runs Pandit Ji Dhaba at Mehram Nagar, the police added.
A Mercedes car used in the incident has also been seized.
Further investigation is ongoing, and authorities are examining the specific role of each accused.
