In its efforts to curb corruption and take action against corrupt officials in Bihar , the Vigilance Investigation Bureau has achieved a major success. A special Vigilance team arrested the Deputy Collector of Land Reforms, posted in the Rosera subdivision of Samastipur district, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh. Immediately following the arrest, a raid at the officer’s residence yielded an additional ₹13,82,000 in cash. This action has created a stir within the entire administrative department.
The team of Vigilance Department has arrested DCLR Kanchan Kumari Jha of Rosera red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. During the action, one of her domestic servants was also arrested. It is being told that the Vigilance Department had received a complaint about the demand of bribe in exchange for settling a case related to land dispute. After the complaint, the Vigilance team took action after planning and caught the DCLR while accepting the bribe amount. After the arrest, the Vigilance team searched the official residence of DCLR. During the search, Rs 13 lakh 82 thousand additional cash was recovered from there. In this way, a total of Rs 15 lakh 82 thousand cash was recovered in the action.
Additionally, a new washing machine worth approximately 37,000 rupees was also recovered from the two. It is alleged that the DCLR’s domestic servant allegedly acted as a middleman for them. The Vigilance Department has arrested DCLR Kanchan Kumari Jha and her domestic servant and initiated further legal action. This action has caused a stir within the administrative department. Meanwhile, DCLR Kanchan Kumari Jha says that an attempt is being made to frame her.
At the request of investigating police inspector Diwakar Kumar Dinkar, a special investigation team was formed under the
leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Surveillance Narendra Kumar. The team laid a well-planned trap and caught the two men red-handed. After interrogation, they will be presented before the Special Vigilance Court in Muzaffarpur.
