JD(U) MLA Anant Kumar Singh on Saturday clarified his statement that nine people were killed. He claimed that his statement of “nine murders for Nitish Kumar” has been “misunderstood”, and said that he was speaking about his “sacrifice” for the party chief. A day earlier, the Mokama MLA had created a stir by saying that he had a long-standing relationship with party chief Nitish Kumar. To help him, he had killed nine people when he was struggling to make his place. He was standing with him at that time.
In the Legislative Council elections, Anant Singh has rebelled against party candidate Neeraj Kumar and he is openly criticizing Neeraj Kumar and supporting Jan Suraj Party candidate Anuj Singh.
According to PTI News, Anant Singh’s statement caused a stir in politics. After that, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad clarified that such a statement should not be taken seriously. At the same time, Anant Singh claims that he was misunderstood.
Anant Singh retracts statement on killing nine people
He clarified that he was trying to say that nine members of his family were killed when Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Dal was in power. Because of this, his closeness to Nitish Kumar had increased, but his words were misunderstood.
Patna, Bihar: When asked if he still supports his party, JD(U) MLA Anant Singh says, “… Who has made as many sacrifices as I have? Nitish Kumar was nothing back then; he used to roam around here and there. At that time, while being with Nitish Kumar, I got nine people murdered…”

Anant Kumar Singh often regrets that his low education hinders him from expressing his views. Anant Singh had previously been in RJD. He is the brother of late Dilip Singh, who was a minister in the government of Lalu Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi.
Rebellion against the party candidate in the Legislative Council elections
The Mokama MLA has vowed to ensure the defeat of JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar in the upcoming Legislative Council elections. He has been insisting that his support to Jan Suraj Party candidate Anuj Singh is not a “betrayal” with Nitish Kumar, whom he has been patronising for over two decades.
When JD(U) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha was asked about the controversy over Singh’s remarks of “rebellion” and “nine murders”, he said, “The state unit of the party has taken note of his words and the explanation given by him. For now, he wants to say that the NDA will win all the eight seats in the Legislative Council elections and Neeraj Kumar will win from the Patna Graduates seat.
