“Akhilesh met us to join BJP”, UP Deputy CM Keshav Maurya’s sarcastic statement

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who arrived in Kanpur, on Friday lashed out at the Samajwadi Party and its president Akhilesh Yadav. Maurya made the big claim amid political discussions arising over Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan’s meeting with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. “SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had met us to join the BJP. Maurya said this in response to a question asked about Rakesh Sachan joining the SP. After his statement, discussions in political circles have intensified. However, many people are considering it as a sarcastic style.

In fact, political discussions are going on about the meeting of Cabinet Minister Rakesh Sachan and Akhilesh Yadav. When Keshav Prasad Maurya was questioned about this, he turned back that Akhilesh Yadav himself had met him to join the BJP. Maurya, however, did not disclose any details of the conversation to support his claim.

Keshav’s attack on Akhilesh’s PDA Keshav Prasad Maurya also targeted Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA formula. He questioned the politics of the SP by describing PDA as ‘Family Development Agency’ and ‘Family Development Authority’. Maurya alleged that the SP’s PDA is a platform to patronise goons, criminals, mafia and rioters. Maurya has made these allegations against his political rival SP.

The Deputy CM also claimed that the BJP will form the government for the 2027 assembly elections. He said the BJP will form the government again in Uttar Pradesh and the party will get a thumping majority. Maurya said that the Samajwadi Party will not come to power even by 2047, let alone 2027. Even before this, he has publicly claimed that the SP will not come to power till 2047.

What he said on the electoral roll and SIR, Keshav Maurya also spoke on the ongoing political debate regarding the special intensive revision of the electoral roll, i.e., the SIR. He said that a pure electoral roll is necessary for fair elections. Maurya supported the process of the SIR and said that the Election Commission is working on the revision of the electoral roll. The political debate between the opposition and the ruling party is going on on this issue.
