After 14 days of marriage, the bride left her husband and reached her maternal home, said – ‘I can’t leave my boyfriend’

Ghaziabad. A man has lodged a complaint with the police authorities in Kaushambi police station area after his wife went to her maternal home after 14 days of marriage. The husband alleges that after about a week of marriage, the wife told about her boyfriend and refused to end the relationship with him. A dispute ensued after the family was informed about it. Now the husband alleges that the wife and her family are demanding one lakh rupees and threatening to implicate the family in a false case if the amount is not paid.

The wedding took place on July 11.

Abhinav Khandelwal, a resident of Vaishali, works as a water supplyist. His mother Nisha Khandelwal drives an e-rickshaw, while his father Sanjay Khandelwal works in a private job. Abhinav said that in May 2026, a young man living in the neighborhood had told the relationship of Rani, a resident of Panipat. The relationship was finalized with the consent of both the families and the marriage took place on July 11 in the Kaushambi area. Abhinav says that the financial condition of Rani’s family was weak, so there was no transaction in the marriage. The entire cost of the wedding was borne by his family and about four lakh rupees were spent.

Husband caught talking to boyfriend

Abhinav said that after about seven days of marriage, he saw his wife talking to a young man on mobile. When asked, the queen called him her lover. According to Abhinav, he convinced the wife but Rani refused to leave the lover. He then informed his mother and wife’s family. It is alleged that during the conversation, Rani abused Abhinav’s parents and asked them to leave the house. The husband alleges that the wife refused to continue the relationship with him as well.

She had tried to escape earlier

According to Abhinav, Rani had also tried to escape from a religious place in Rajasthan. Later, when he came to his in-laws’ house in Ghaziabad, he threatened to cut the vein of his hand and set it on fire with a gas cylinder. When there was a commotion, people around reached the spot. Abhinav says that during that time Rani told him not to stay with him and not leave her lover. After this, on July 28, she went to her maternal home. Abhinav alleged that his wife’s brothers also assaulted him.

Abhinav’s mother Nisha Khandelwal said that after getting information about the daughter-in-law’s love affair, she informed her family about it over the phone. Nisha alleges that after this, she and other family members started receiving threats to send them to jail. They say that the daughter-in-law used to threaten to cut the vein and set the house on fire. Now if one lakh rupees is not paid, the entire family is being threatened to be implicated in a false case. In this case, Abhinav has complained to the police officials and demanded action. The matter was also reported to the Panipat police. Where the police had also called both husband and wife for mediation. Earlier, a young woman in Hapur hid her real identity and got married through fake documents and then escaped from the house with cash and jewelry.
