The Bihar government is working on a plan to build 20 ropeways across the state to promote tourism. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced this at the Bihar Investors Meet held at the Taj Hotel in Patna. Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari was also present at the event.
The Chief Minister said that he has announced to construct not one or two, but 20 ropeways in PPP (public-private partnership) mode. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that a ropeway will also be built over the river Ganga between Patna and Sonepur (Hariharnath), the work of which will start in the next 5 months. The proposed ropeway will start from Marine Drive in Patna and go up to the famous Hariharnath Temple in Sonepur. Through this ropeway of about 7 km long, people will be able to travel over the Ganges.
Earlier, the Patna-Sonepur ropeway was announced.
Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had also given information about the Patna-Sonepur ropeway project during the inauguration of the Shravani Mela about two months ago. At that time, he had said that the ropeway would start from Marine Drive in Patna and reach Hariharnath in Sonepur. In the proposed project, people will be able to go from one side to the other through a ropeway over the river Ganga. It is planned to facilitate tourism and religious movement between Patna and Sonepur.
Ropeway will also be built between Sultanganj-Aguwani Ghat
A similar ropeway has also been proposed in Bhagalpur district. Through this, there is a plan to connect the famous Ajgavinath Dham in Sultanganj to Aguani Ganga Ghat. This ropeway will also pass over the river Ganga. Through this project, devotees and tourists will be able to get an alternative means of reaching from one end of the Ganga to the other.
‘Serve the birthplace from the workplace by staying outside’
During this, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also spoke about the migration from Bihar. He said that Biharis who have gone out to do good work, they should stay outside and serve the birthplace from their workplace. At the same time, he said that if the poor and laborers are migrating in search of employment, then it will be the responsibility of the government. In July this year, the formation of ‘Bihar State Ropeways Company Limited’ was approved in the cabinet meeting to develop modern ropeway facilities at religious and tourist places of Bihar.
