A parallel bridge will be built on Budhi Gandak in Dadar, Muzaffarpur at a cost of 35 crores, connecting NH-28 with NH-57

The process of constructing a parallel bridge over the Budhi Gandak at Dadar in Ahiyapur has begun. Actually, this proposal was stuck in the files for about two years. Earlier, the Road Construction Department was engaged in this process, but according to the new rule, the construction of a bridge with a length of 250 meters or more can now be done by the Bridge Construction Corporation.

After this, the proposal was taken from the Road Construction Department and handed over to the Bridge Construction Corporation. The department has prepared an estimate of about Rs 35 crore and sent a proposal to the headquarters for approval.

Senior Project Engineer of the Bridge Construction Corporation Alok Kumar said that the tender process will start after getting approval from the headquarters. The length of this bridge will be the same as before. The current bridge is about 300 meters long. A new bridge will be built parallel to it. Its width will be more than the existing bridge, so that the traffic will be smooth. He informed that the six-laning of Chandni Chowk to Bakhri Road is being done as the traffic pressure on this route has increased in the last few years. If we combine small and big vehicles of different routes, then more than 50 thousand vehicles move every day.

It is the main road connecting Darbhanga and Motihari NH, so vehicles on both routes are trafficked. In view of this, it has been decided to build a parallel bridge.

The existing bridge will also be repaired:

At present, the Dadar bridge is a single lane. It has become dilapidated. The problem has increased due to the joint gap. The layers are crumbling and the bars are out.

It is in the process of repairing it for about four crores, but in view of the six lanes, a parallel bridge will also be built, so that traffic can be shifted to the new bridge. This will be just like the old bridge being repaired at Akhadaghat and a new one is also being constructed.

Connecting NH-28 to NH-57 via Bairia from Chandni Chowk

The new bridge will connect NH-28 to NH-57 via Bairia from Chandni Chowk. This will facilitate movement. The problem of jam will be eliminated. The movement of heavy vehicles will also be smooth. The present Dadar bridge was constructed about 40 years ago.

It was also repaired from time to time, but it has not been repaired for the last 10 years. Now the Bridge Construction Corporation is preparing for it. The IIT Patna team has also expressed the need for repairs. This bridge has also been included under the Bridge Health Maintenance Policy.
