High-tech game of cheating in BPSC AEDO exam, answer key hidden inside hologram, 3 arrested.

During the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) exam conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission, a very vicious method of cheating has been revealed in Nalanda. With the vigilance of the authorities, a major fraud was caught in time and three people have been arrested. The incident took place at the PL Sahu Plus Two High School examination centre in Sohsarai police station area of Nalanda district. It is said that suspicious activity was seen during the biometric verification process during the examination here. In this sequence, the officials suspected that something was wrong, after which an investigation was immediately started and then the case was busted.

Answer key hidden in hologram

Investigations revealed that the biometric investigation agency’s supervisor Chandan Kumar and operator Rahul Kumar had hidden the answer key inside the hologram of the machine. When Shweta Kumari, a candidate from Patna, reached for verification, she was secretly handed the answer slip. However, this cunning could not escape the eyes of the officials. During the search, the answer key was recovered from the examinee, which revealed the whole matter.

Three arrested, FIR registered

As soon as the incident came to light, there was chaos at the examination center. An FIR was registered at Sohsarai police station on the application of the centre superintendent. The police immediately took action and arrested both the personnel and the candidate. According to preliminary information, the accused Chandan Kumar is a resident of Noorsarai. The police are now interrogating the three.
The police are not treating this case as an isolated incident. The investigation is also being done in the direction of whether any organized solver gang is active behind it. How the answer was prepared before the start of the exam and who provided it remains a big question. Officials believe that if this network grows, then more revelations can be made in the coming days.

Low attendance also caught the attention

The attendance of candidates in this examination was also relatively low. More than half of the candidates were absent in the examination held at 15 centres in the district. Out of 9732 candidates appeared in the first shift and 4250 in the second shift. At present, the case of malpractice in the entire district has come to light only from this center.

This time the big rigging was averted, but…

The incident in Nalanda shows that technical methods are now being used to cheat in the examination. Although the vigilance of the authorities averted a major rigging this time, this case indicates that the examination system needs to be further strengthened. The police are now trying to get to the bottom of the entire network.
