A man was allegedly stabbed to death by a woman’s son in New Delhi, with police suspecting the attack was driven by the accused’s suspicion of an illicit relationship between his mother and the victim.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon in outer Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area. Police said they received a PCR call from a man identifying himself as Sumit, who informed them that his brother had been stabbed to death.
A police team rushed to the spot and, during the investigation, found that the mother of the accused was travelling with the victim, identified as Aman, from Paschim Vihar towards Nihal Vihar when the attack occurred.
According to police, the accused, Rohit, arrived on a motorcycle and attacked Aman with a knife in front of his mother. After inflicting severe injuries, he fled the scene. Aman later succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigation and questioning suggested that the murder was linked to Rohit’s suspicion of an alleged affair between his mother and the victim.
Police have registered an FIR under the relevant sections of murder and arrested the accused.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
