Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to world leaders on Sunday to join Israel and the United States in their efforts against Iran. Citing recent attacks on Israeli territory, he stated that these attacks serve as evidence of a growing global threat. Speaking from the site of a missile attack carried out by Iran in Arad, Israel, Netanyahu remarked that the events of the past 48 hours demonstrate that Iran poses a threat not only to Israel but to the entire international community.
The Israeli Prime Minister noted that Iran has targeted civilian areas and major religious sites in Jerusalem, including the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. “If you need proof that Iran is a threat to the entire world, the last 48 hours have provided that proof,” Netanyahu said. “In the last 48 hours, Iran targeted a civilian area. They are doing this using a weapon of mass murder. Fortunately, no one was killed; however, this was due to luck, not due to their intent. Their intent is to murder civilians.” He further stated, “Secondly, they attacked Jerusalem, which is situated right next to the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions—the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. And thanks to a miracle—once again—none of them were harmed; yet, they were targeting the holy sites of the three major monotheistic faiths.” He went on to assert that Iran has demonstrated its long-range strike capabilities, which include firing missiles over vast distances and targeting strategic routes, including maritime and energy corridors.
He added, “What further proof do you need that this regime—which poses a threat to the entire world—must be stopped? Israel and the United States are working together for the sake of the whole world. And now, the time has come for the leaders of other nations to join in as well. I am pleased to say that I can see some of them beginning to move in that direction, but much more remains to be done.” Netanyahu also welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s calls for comprehensive international action against Iran, describing such action as essential not only for Israel and the United States but for global security as well.
